ok, over due update photos...still heaps to do but if I can get it done in primer before the albany hobby expo, I'll be happy.

The fins are glassed onto the body and held in place with two jigs - there is no motor tube in the rocket at this point.

The fin jigs - these can be easily pushed out and the motor tube inserted. The fins will then be glassed to the motor tube and the CR's put in place and glassed.

75mm motor tube and front CR

Glassed tubes

Electronics bay.
The pistons have also been completed. That's it. Next photo - completed build in primer.

Not yet...I haven't thought a great deal about it. I'll worry about that after christmas.

The rocket factory has started production again and I keep looking at the UE every 5 mins, so I'm thinking work will soon resume...it's only been 2 years - truth is there's not a lot left to do:

Insert and glass the motor mount to the fins.
External fin fillets
Fix the electronics bay
sand, prime and paint!

it's the sanding that's taken the wind out of my sails...  Cry  Cry  Cry
As soon as I get a job I will sort out the electronics and motor hardware

Thought I would give you all an update...

Much has been done on this project in the last two years as the following photo will show

I expect to have the UE finished in about 20 years so I'm well on track.

Huh? You can't rush these things...besides, it's flown many times in my head, so I'm not sure I will even bother finishing it.
