Via instructions it recommends F50-6, G80-7, H97-M and H123-M with flights to 3600feet. Good level 1 certification rocket believe Dazza  Smiley

Next process as per instructions is to seal the fins and launch lug with sanding sealer. For this process have obtained some dope.  Smiley

Also needed a brush and sandpaper. Fins were sanded then dope was applied. Will now wait 24hours for the dope to completely dry before sanding again as recommended by instructions. From experience 3 coats of dope should be enough. That means 3 lots of 24 hours!

Painting will be the next process  Smiley

Yes Dazza. It also gives them strenth. Think what hotspot was refering to is talc powder. This is recommended with the dope! However am not too fussy about getting it too smooth. More concerned about the strenth. Will give a smoother paint finish. Did the second coat today!  Smiley

Have finished playing with the dope!  Smiley Instructions recommend priming then painting the colour of your choice! Am personally not an over fussy person when it comes to painting. Knowing full well how these kits get knocked around on the flying field requiring continued paint touch ups! So for this step I skipped the primer and obtained some gloss white paint from bunnings! Hooking the model on the now strong shock cord mount a coat was applied!

Thanks guys! Decals get downloaded from their web-site Dazza. Did 3 coats of white then taped area near fin roots and painted fins black. Pictures show the progress!

Will use the colour on the downloaded decals to match a green paint needed for the nose cone! Have printed one sheet off! Wont be posting much on the painting side of things! Can see no benifit for this build! When ready for decals will post more!  Smiley

I just wanted to say (as a novice) that this whole process is fascinating and highly educational.

Great posts RocketBall... very clear descriptions and good detail.
