Not a bad policy at that Peter. Printed one out the other day. Did notice one small technical error in it. Under 5.6.5 Where the term reads 'the maximum permitted size of rocket motor is a commercially available motor up to size G, with maximum thrust up to 160 Newton-secounds.' Is that meant to read 'with maximum total impulse up to 160 newton-secounds.'

Thanks for pointing that out, Rocketball..  I will add that to the list of pending changes.  Down further we refer to a LCO as a LSO also.
I will have to learn physics one day.

Peter.

I was irritated I couldn't launch HPR, but my Tripoli accepted G rockets don't pass your rules. No more than 3 stages? upper stages can't be more powerful than first stage? Must be designed to fly more than once? Must have attached surfaces for aerodynamic stability? Yikes! Next you'll be telling me you don't let people sneek a few metal fasteners and the occasion thin metal fire wall on the bigger G stuff.

No attached surfaces, is spin stabilised comrade!

Is held ridgid until time of launch then tower moves away, rod is quite wippy.

Is G but is having thin metal bulkhead on boosters.

Is level 1

Is level 2

Is boat

Is launched from under water

Anyway you are getting point, is all capitalist plot for stopings of showings of superior Soviet technology!

Yes is plot to foil dangerous soviet activities.

The MOP started as a risk analysis, went to a risk management plan and then had to be bent to be consistent with the FAI rules for space models.
I think the wording is "no significant metal parts" and the intent of the launch gear is to keep everything pointing in the right direction until the craft is aerodynamic.  If the MOP needs  to be changed, there are ways to do that, with the appropriate approvals.  We usually have a large group of members of the public whom I am most concerned about.

At least the insurers were happy with a risk management plan, and that was the starting point.

I enjoyed your pictures.  Admire your dedication.  I still don't know how you Kosmonauts manage to share one cubic metre of air per person with a wooden heat shield for re-entry.  You must really trust your team.

In Soviet Union rockets can be replaced...but so can people and rockets are more expensive so screw people! And yes we are very careful about wording of rules because...
