Thankyou for your questions Wolfies Gurl.

Policy in this area is grey. We (the ARA) would assume any proposed sponsor or current sponsor is a proper registered legal business operating under the laws of Australia.

We also take on a certain amount of good faith that any sponsors or proposed sponsors understand fully this. However from my own personal enquires in the last month it appears clear consise policy in regards to minumum requirements for sponsors needs to be established. With what appears sponsors claiming they have the largest stock in Australia then suggesting it is illegal to register their business substantiates this.

On that note have established a poll in the members lounge for financial members to vote on this proposed policy. The poll will run for 2 weeks.

Members are encouraged to have their say!

Has anyone ever heard of the paperwork reduction act?

So as to clarify this statement as some have found it confusing it should read as follows; With what appears
sponsors claiming they have the largest stock range in Australia then suggesting there is not a legal requirement to register their business substantiates this.

Hope the above avoids any confusion.

Thankyou for your question Wolfies Gurl.

Am unfamiliar with the requirements for an ABN so cannot comment on this. This appears to dabble into tax laws.

Currently there is a proposed new policy being considered in the members lounge with a time frame of 2 weeks to run. Until this has run its course looking at other issues would likely confuse everyone.

This can be substantiated by what appears to be a large amount of inconsistant and conflicting information about.

I have posted additional info under the sponsors thread. I would hope you give it some consideration before making policies.
