I had a quick look through the forum today and many threads are starting to become polluted, ie subjects have gone way off topic which happens from time to time. I will be going through on the weekend and trying to tidy some of these threads up. The occasional reply may be deleted if it has no relevance so I apologise in advance.
 
If a topic starts to go off course start a new thread and post the link directing other forum users to go to the new thread, this will avoid confusion to any guests reading our forum.

Lol I'm not normally aware of it, the times that I am guilty of it.
I get a little carried away at times.

However I'm not one who gets offended over deleted posts.

I closed my forums a while back because I did nothing else other than resolve arguments and delete posts.

but if we dont ask questions that may take us away from what the thread started out to be will we learn anything?

As a relative newbie to posting may I suggest that if posts do need to be removed that a PM be sent to the person who made the post to explain why it removed. Experienced posters may not realise this but someones post disappearing with no explaination could be percieved the wrong way. Also by sending the PM may aviod future polluting. One cannot assume that all posters may read this thread. Just a thought. Would be interested in views on that idea?

Well as was mentioned in the inital post - "ie subjects have gone way off topic which happens from time to time"
We all do it a bit, have run my own forums in the past, it was never a problem when that happened as mostly someone else would pull it back in line eventually.

But when it goes from rocket motor reloads to turkish fried chicken resturants, it can make life hard to keepo the place organised.


My solution was to usually edit the post with a remark like "

but that was rarely neccesary.

Though my forum had a point system, which inevitably encouraged useless posts.

Very true DAZZA I was more referring to threads that started about rocketry and somehow ended completely off topic. NASA news to water rocketry. It is hard sometimes to stay on topic in a forum I am not too fused but a few things will be moved around or deleted. I will not delete anything of value to rocketry.
rockeballsa and Dranoweb I have read your posts and what you have expressed was my intentions also. If an occasional post is modded or deleted and its fairly obvious its breaking forum rules I wont PM you. Any other time a quick PM will be made as has been done already to a few who got carried away.
 
As for the rest of you lot polluting the polluting thread shame shame shame.

KFC is served dripping in fat. If I want to eat fat I will buy a bottle of fat be a darn sight cheaper.

Just to throw this topic way off, I could go into a rant about health issues and how simply consuming fat, does not particularly make you fat.
Transfats however can, but one must be given the right situation to do so.
If one consumes large amount of said fats and then proceeds to lead an inactive and sluggish lifestyle, you have a prime candidate for weight gain.
On the other hand, if one eats with moderation and remains active, KFC on payday etc, may not be such a bad thing.

Every Sunday night is takeout night we used to eat way way too much takeout I am just lucky I have a high metabolism and burn the fat off pretty quick but as I keep getting reminded I am not getting any younger and one day it will catch up with me.

I have 4 chihuahuas , 3 babies an one mother , the father had to go away cause my mum and sis were alergic to them. They are awesome too they really like to tear each other into shreads J/D but they play with each other alot and they terrorise their mother.

my boy has 2 guinea pigs and i keep tellin him i am going to launch them in my rocket..lol i wouldnt but he dose not trust me;D;D

I will get around to taking some pics soon before they get too big. They are still cute and cuddly at the moment.

As for the pics of guinea pigs - not possible anymore.
A couple of dogs payed them a visit night before last and amongst destroying the cages, they killed all but one - which is rather stressed out now.

Well mystery resolved. I reinforced the cage and left the survivor out at the scene of the crime.
Placed my motion sensing camera box out there lined up on it.
got some nice pics of a fox.
I would have posted them, but forgot to give the camera an SD card, and as the camera's interface is dead, cant get the pics off it.
