will be cutting the fin slots to the end of the tubes so i can build the fin can then slide it into the main air frame

i think hes compensating for something

Hey wolfair my brother is a heavy truck escort might be able to get you a favour..lol

it will break down into smaller bits for transport

you cant fit all of your fleet in the torry

here i have sanded the motor mount tube were the fin will be glued to give abetter bond

 
i placed jb weld on the fin edge and five minute epoxy on the ends to tack /hold inplace extra hole is for later some more bonding when installed into the main airframe

just did some more  work some inside fillets they will also be beefed up with fibre glass fillets

its coming together nicely wolf i cant wait for the fiberglassing i love the smell of resin

got it from wildman nice and fast

did some work on the Ebay sled today sanded the edge of the G10 sled so the epoxy will bond better


 
epoxy layed on then on with the tubes and some clamps to hold it in place while drying
 

 
then i coated the tubes with epoxy took the classine layer of so the epoxy will soak in and added some nice fillets to the tubes

I glassed mine as well that helped with strength.

she is on there hard
 
glued the end of the electronics bay together once again the clamps came in handy

finshed product just have to add the ejection ports


 

the rear will be recessed into the electronices bay rather than sit flush like the other side will post apic when it is done

did a bit more today after mowing the lawn
 
i glued the spacer on the electronics bay using 5 min epoxy this will also be where the arming keys will be placed
this is the spacer cut from a piece of leftover from the shipping it was used to proctect the nosecone

this is the rear drouge deployment side i have recessed the end because that is how i like it


 

glued the nuts in with JB weld before glueing sanded the area

bolts instaled i love big bulkly bolts must be a torry thing

 
found some battery holders in the shed brand new

sanded the inside of the main air frame were the motor mount sits

 
wating for glue to dry

 
also clamped the rear end so the epoxy would bond nice and tight

Remember to make sure the batteries that fit into those holders dont come out as the holders alone wont do the job.

have seen people use caple ties will do some web surfing

Cable ties do slip what I have done also seen on youtube is cable ties and electrical tape does the trick.

i would have thought along the line of a piece of plastic across the battery with 2 screws 1 on each side pulling it down into place. i would go with a little over kill on this one you dont need a power problem in mid flight... just a thought.  

you didnt find those battery holders because they were not lost  they are MINE!!!!! MEN grrrrr

this is with 30 min epoxy on top of the resin and fibre glass
 

 

this is the main air frame holder for the shock cord

have now installed it into the main air frame using 30min epoxy and i have also added a peice of air frame cut to fit into the main air frame to act as a locking device
 

i have cutting up fiberglass to give the epoxy something more to bond to
 

she is almost ready to paint not really much left just the ejection wells to go and the nose cone and the motor retainer

I am happy to announce the casing is no longer living beside our bed wohooo   and all rocket parts are out in the shed YAY ohh except the electronics they seem to have a permanent place on the end of dining table    It has been great to watch this project grow as the bank balance shrunk hehehehehe. Heres hoping all goes well for Phil with the flight in September I cant wait to see it fly.

He is just doing the final touches today so yes it will be going up at Dowerin, gdude and myself just have to go over the build and a few other things and then give the go ahead.  

have just done some ground testing of the deployment charges it would seem 4 grams of BP is fine but the neighbours think i have a weapon of mass destruction

ok  no damage to the rocket some scratches DD worked fine i did not use sheerpins i just used some masking tape on the sections that need it will post some pics later

and the height the rocket went to was 9501 AGL with a 4 second mach delay 1700ft AGL for the main

9500 is the mark set to beat hey mmmmmmm

I got 9988 ft used a 10 sec mach delay a bit long but it still worked dual was good maybe set a little high the firestorm will go up on a J at our next launch so 4 flights in a row may be a record for me.

9988 ohhhhh so close to 10000ft dont that pee you off, well done hotspot and that firestorm was awsome to watch

guess what i have to clean and do some paint touch ups on the rocket so the girls dont get dirty when they do there photo shoot with it now that its a little warmer the girls wont get to cold
