will be cutting the fin slots to the end of the tubes so i can build the fin can then slide it into the main air frame

here i have sanded the motor mount tube were the fin will be glued to give abetter bond

 
i placed jb weld on the fin edge and five minute epoxy on the ends to tack /hold inplace extra hole is for later some more bonding when installed into the main airframe

did some work on the Ebay sled today sanded the edge of the G10 sled so the epoxy will bond better


 
epoxy layed on then on with the tubes and some clamps to hold it in place while drying
 

 
then i coated the tubes with epoxy took the classine layer of so the epoxy will soak in and added some nice fillets to the tubes

did a bit more today after mowing the lawn
 
i glued the spacer on the electronics bay using 5 min epoxy this will also be where the arming keys will be placed
this is the spacer cut from a piece of leftover from the shipping it was used to proctect the nosecone


making in artliner where the spacer goes

sanded the inside of the main air frame were the motor mount sits

 
wating for glue to dry

Remember to make sure the batteries that fit into those holders dont come out as the holders alone wont do the job.

Cable ties do slip what I have done also seen on youtube is cable ties and electrical tape does the trick.

i would have thought along the line of a piece of plastic across the battery with 2 screws 1 on each side pulling it down into place. i would go with a little over kill on this one you dont need a power problem in mid flight... just a thought.

have now installed it into the main air frame using 30min epoxy and i have also added a peice of air frame cut to fit into the main air frame to act as a locking device

I am happy to announce the casing is no longer living beside our bed wohooo   and all rocket parts are out in the shed YAY ohh except the electronics they seem to have a permanent place on the end of dining table    It has been great to watch this project grow as the bank balance shrunk hehehehehe. Heres hoping all goes well for Phil with the flight in September I cant wait to see it fly.

ok  no damage to the rocket some scratches DD worked fine i did not use sheerpins i just used some masking tape on the sections that need it will post some pics later

and the height the rocket went to was 9501 AGL with a 4 second mach delay 1700ft AGL for the main
