The fire codes do not recommend mid level certification for model rocketry up to G only for high power rocketry.

Mid level certifications were a common practice with Australian rocket clubs in the 90s where it was relatively new in some juristitions. It does no harm if anyone chooses to have these but would suggest it could be an administrative nightmare to process them.

The reality which may shock some members of the rocketry community is 10 to 12 year old children have been purchasing small model rockets in the US from various toy stores and taking them down their local park and launching them without adult supervision. This has been happening for over 50years!

If this hobby was unsafe would it be reasonable to suggest this activity would have been banned over 40 years ago.

Has anyone ever heard of the paperwork reduction act?

I would say there is no risk with model rockets you just have to watch youtube to prove that.

Your correct ICBM the risk is so small as to be insignificant. For those new to hobby rocketry or other people who may have concerns about safety this is what you need to read;
