G'day,

Good to see some action in Canberra.

I was just wondering when the next Canberra launch day is planned for. As for an alternate launch site, the bottom field of Amaroo high school is pretty good if there is nobody around. There is nothing much to speak of around the area for a couple of hundred meters. I occasionally launch a small rocket or two of a weekend when its not too windy.

G'day Barney and thanks for your interest in the CRG!

We're currently in a bit of a holding pattern regarding our Fraser site, while we arrange for formal ACT Gov't approvals (I am drafting a risk register and the like).

I'm interested in your Amaroo field - is this the area you have been using?

It looks very nice - how often is it used for weekend sports?

If you wanted to PM me your e-mail address, I'd be happy to add you to our growing mailing list, so as to keep you fully up-to-speed on our activities.

Anyway, apol's for being slow to respond to your forum posting & welcome!

Thanks for the reply.
Yep thats the spot. The bottom field isn't used at all from what I have seen. The upper field has AFL in the winter on a Saturday and kite trike riding guys on windy days. But of a Sunday morning when the wind is low there is nobody around but dog walkers.

Great stuff - sounds like the go for a few small launches.

I'm going to suggest we (the CRG) meets at the field in the near future (will send an e-mail) and we can try things out to see if it is worth pursuing as an official site.

Cheers!

Nev. B
