oops, that title should be launching at other ARA clubs All fixed ICBM

Just wondered what the reg's were for ARA members regarding this? I'm thinking about insurance, not so much in regards to launch facilities.

If, for example, I were in Perth and wanted to launch with the PARC crew... do I need to be a member of their club too, to be covered by their insurance, or does membership to the ARA mean that I'm covered by that insurance at any ARA launch site?

obviously launch gear etc is another story and is up to each club to sort out how they deal with that.

this question occurred to me with Iconia's new and interesting situation. It would be a shame that members couldn't launch at a particular site due to the "wrong" membership but this seems to be the case in terms of non ARA flyers.

if there were ever to be a truly national launch meet then this problem would need to be overcome, somehow.

Mr f you can launch at any ARA site location does not matter we even take care of any permits if needed with our contacts in Goverment

as for a national launch the ARA could do this we would cover our members and the other clubs TRA for example has its own insurance which covers there members

the ARA has no problem working something out the ball is in there hands when it comes to this our insurance allows cross insurance so long as guidlines have been set up between the two parties involed

An example of ARA members flying in other states is Rocketballsa completed his level 1 and 2 certification in WA. The PARC committee knew of his intentions and orgsanised with our explosives guys for the permission for rocketballsa to use the motors under our supervision. All was very smooth going and easy to sort as all PARC launch sites are listed with the ARA insurance company as is any ara club/section launch sites so that isn't an issue.

Cross insurance between an ARA and a TRA joint launch I would say an MOU would have to be made up so each party understands its insurance obligations and that all members know what its club insurance covers. ie if a TRA member accidently sets fire to the field then this would be TRA insurance   if an ARA members rocket damages a vehicle then it would be ARA insurance, obviously there are a few variables like if a TRA member damages an ARA members car is this covered and visa versa. All the issues could be worked out between the 2 parties and that is how the MOU would be written I am sure that the insurance companies would be happy with that.

Certificate of currency from both clubs would have to be submitted to each insurance company and club along with what the insurance covers on both sides. I know ARA insurance covers everything to fly a rocket provided we follow state, fed and safety codes and procedures of the ARA including member to member and spectators. The only issue that could be foreseen the ARA has 20million and TRA has 1million and it appears the ARA covers more. Another issue would be covering X amount of people at a launch site I think the ARA covers 50 people (spectators) and 100 members at any single launch this however can be changed with a quick phone call and isn't a biggie.

At the end of the day never say never there is always a solution to a problem its just how willing you are to solve it.

Some people look at what IS and wonder why? I look at what COULD BE and wonder why not?

great info... thanks guys!

it's good to know that the problems can be overcome if there is enough goodwill and persistence from different clubs.

With this issue Mr F ultimately it would be up to the landowner whether any of these proposed conditions would be acceptable.

Has anyone ever heard of the paperwork reduction act?
